Twisted and windswept, this Torrey sits above the cliffs in Torrey Pines State Park...or at least that's how I imagined it! This painting is from memories that I have of many hikes along the trails at Torrey Pines and of the amazing California sunsets. I love these smaller studies as I can work out what is working and what isn't in preparation for a larger composition.
