A beautiful sunset and an hour of daylight! This radiant plein-air painting was created for an event hosted by the Oceanside Museum of Art. During a one week period, artists worked in plein-air in and around the city of Oceanside, California. Lucky for me that I live fairly close to Oceanside, so this painting of my back yard view was one of my event paintings. An ever-changing scene painted in just over an hour as the sun dipped below the horizon….of course the clouds came and went, but the essence of the moment is preserved in this luminous composition.
